One-to-One Support
Sometimes you just need someone to listen. Individual grief and bereavement support is available through our trained volunteers (either by phone or in-person). Our bereavement support volunteers are compassionate, sensitive and trustworthy. You can share your deepest pain and loneliness with them in confidence.
Compassionate Bereavement Support Group
A structured 10-week program that runs twice a year and covers the following topics:
- Taking the First Step
- Primary and Secondary Losses
- Loneliness and Depression
- Anxiety and Panic
- Anger
- Guilt and Forgiveness
- Memories
- Special Days
- Moving On
- Saying Goodbye
Coffee & Conversation Bereavement Support Group
This support group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of each month, 2 - 3:30 pm, at Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House. It offers clients, who have lost a loved one, a safe and comfortable environment with open conversation, shared experiences and stories. Group discussions will cover a variety of topics.
Men's Bereavement Support Group
This group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 1 - 2:30 pm at Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House. It's a casual, drop-in peer support bereavement group for men who have experienced loss.
Yoga for Grief
This free class is for anyone coping with loss. It's held every Tuesday from 11 am - noon, hosted through Zoom or in-person at the Yoga House, 3 Thompson Rd, Penetanguishene. Please join yoga instructor Lisa to engage in breathwork, meditation and gentle movement to help your body, mind and soul through the healing process. Open to all experience levels.
Art Therapy for Grief
2nd Thursday of each month at 1 - 2:30 pm, hosted virtually through Zoom. Join Registered Art Therapist Jae Fratzl as she guides you through a variety of artistic activities to help you process grief in a new and unique way. This is a great program for anyone feeling stuck in their grief or looking for a new way to express their feelings. Art supplies provided if needed.
Parent's Circle
Held the last Thursday of each month, 6 pm at Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House.
Please join our circle where we provide understanding, encouragement, guidance and support to any parent who has experienced the death of a child, in any circumstance and at any age.

Referrals
Anyone can refer someone to Hospice Huronia with the consent of the person being referred and anyone can refer themselves.
